Carbon fiber was discovered by Thomas Edison in the 1870s. However, it would take almost 100 years for it to make its way into motorsports in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The trickle-down effect has made carbon fiber as popular in street and race car markets as round tires, almost fifty years after it was first used in motorsports. 

The component was only once available to racing elites, but it has now been made accessible to street and drag racing enthusiasts. QA1 has REV(TM), which is the latest entry into the carbon fiber component market. This line includes a high-performance carbon fiber drive-train.

The large version has a diameter of 3.7 inches and a 1350 series U joint. It is rated at 2,000 horsepower and 1,500 lb/ft torque. The smaller version has 750 horsepower and 500 lb/ft torque. It comes with a 3.2-inch diameter carbon fiber tube, a 1310 series joint, and a 1350 U-joint. However, larger 1330 or 1350 U-joints can be purchased at an additional charge.
